How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

I borrowed the idea for this cache from a cacher known as wvhunter. I have modified it somewhat from the original...just because I can. Thanks to wvhunter for allowing me to borrow your cache idea.

First things first...please be aware that the cache IS NOT at the posted coordinates Do NOT even go to the posted coordinates. Unless you bring beer. If I'm home, you're more than welcome. You must read and follow all of the requirements to log this cache!

Failure to follow the listed rules WILL result in your log being deleted.
Or at least a discussion..

In order to log this cache as a find, you must first find and log a cache that has been hidden by another cacher whose official cache name begins with each of the 26 alphabetical characters. The characters are A through Z. Only the first character of the cacher's name counts.
NOTE:
1. Special characters at the beginning of a cacher's name do not count. Special characters are ignored and the first A-Z after the special character can be used.
2. Caching name is determined by the cacher's registered Geocaching.com name on their profile page. This is the page that comes up AFTER you click on the cache owner link on the top of the cache page. Group names, associations, or event committees do not count UNLESS they are an official Geocaching.com account.
3. If the cache placed is a group effort by 2 or more geocachers, I will allow you to use any of the cachers names involved, as long as they are listed on the cache publication page. ( I know, this kind of conflicts with rule 2, it depends on how you define associations ) I guess that will be a judgement call on my part...not to worry - I'm easy.

The rules:
1. In order to keep this on an even keel between the newbie cachers and the grizzled old veterans, I am NOT going to allow you to count previous cache finds. Only cache finds logged after publication will be allowed. My cache, my rules.............just because I can.
2. All types of caches qualify as long as the cache owner's name qualifies.
3. Since the cache has been active for a while, I am eliminating rule #3. A lot of new cachers have joined into the game , and I don't want their caches to be ineligible for the purposes of completing this cache.
4. Your finds can be in any state or country.
5.These caches must be caches listed on Geocaching.com that you have personally ( physically ) found and logged. ( General rules, guidelines and conditions, as stated by Geocaching.com, for logging a cache find apply. )
6. No logging finds on caches you own will be allowed.
7. If you have others with you when you find the final cache, only those who have fulfilled ALL criteria for this cache will be allowed to log it as a find.
8. Finds without the proper verification/documentation WILL be deleted.

Remember, please follow these rules to maintain a level playing field for everyone. Keep in mind we are primarily operating on the honor system here. Help keep it honest.

I think probably the best way to keep track of your caches would be to create a bookmark list ( preferably public, so that interested parties can keep track of your progress). Regardless, you will need to make it public once you complete the challenge. Once you complete your 26 caches, post a note on the cache listing advising me as such. I will review your list, and if it's good to go, I'll let you know, and provide you with the coordinates to the final cache. The reason I'm not publishing the final co-ords is that since this is somewhat of a toughie, I plan on having some great swag. And I don't want it to get compromised (swiped). The cache you seek is a well stocked ammo can.

The final cache location is probably a difficulty / terrain rating of 2.5 / 3.0. The 4.5 difficulty rating in the cache listing is based on the difficulty of qualifying to log this cache.

Please feel free to post notes with any updates / links / difficulties / photos or general progress at will. You might even want to put a watch on this listing to keep track of everyone's progress.

Good luck, cachers. I think you have your work cut out for you.

PS......this cache is placed with permission on a buddy of mine's property. He has been instructed, if he observes anybody down in the area of the cache.....to go down there and give them the business. It's all in good fun....play along for awhile, then tell him T-Bone said it was ok.

CONGRATULATIONS TO WONKMAN FOR THE FTF!!!!!! NICE JOB, MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!
