The nearby railroad track was around during the Civil War and saw both Union and Confederate troops during the Siege of Vicksburg. There was even a small skirmish at a nearby natural spring. After the Civil War during the Reconstruction Era, Clinton was the site of a bloody massacre that led to the end of Federal protection of freed men and woman and the subsequent imposition of "Jim Crow" segregation. Google "Clinton Riot Melissa Jones" for the recently uncovered history.
This is a lock-n-lock cache with log book and pencil. It contains several "prize" items.
Traversing the orchard should not be difficult, but please watch out for fallen branches and low spots. There is a historical marker near the railroad crossing that makes a good place to park, if you do not wish to stop on the street.
Direct access to cache location may be very difficult for those in wheelchairs.
Plan for 'skeeters in warm weather and watch out for poison ivy.
Congratulations to Jabba3041 on the "First To Find." You demonstrated true dedication to the cause at 2:30 AM during the middle of a rain storm!!!!
