At this spot, you can see the ruins of Palmdale Winery, destroyed in the earthquake of 1906, and the remnants of the palm landscape. That it all still exists today despite the encroaching residential houses and the recent road construction is a minor miracle.
To sample the wine, you'll need to travel back more than 100 years, to what was then the largest winery in California. The Palmdale Company was formed in 1892, but the history goes back even before that. You can read more about the history of the winery in the link above.

Notes about the cache : I've toyed with several ideas for hiding a cache here, but didn't like any of the others. Little Bunny helped in the construction of this one. I think it's better than a magnetic nano on the rail.
