We will be gathering on San Jacinto Point in
the Nature Center, a little west of the listed coordinates from
noon to 4pm-ish. I plan to have a tent or awning set up to provide
shade and/or shelter from any rain. There will be a pot-luck lunch,
games and door prizes. Attendees to this event will get a special
10 years! event icon added to their profile, so you don't want to
miss it! This may also be your chance to complete the
Houston Area Pick 6 Challenge!. Since this event will
have a different icon (if we can get 10 people to show up), I'm
counting it as a 13th possible "cache type" to be gotten in the
same day. Who know, maybe a regular event and/or a CITO will pop up
nearby on the same day?
The Nature Center entrance is located at
N29 45.293 W95 02.142 -- 6213 Bayway Drive, Baytown.
For finding all the caches in the park, a
bicycle is recommended. I should have a GPS or two available that
can run the Wherigo cartridge too! Sorry, but dogs are not
allowed in the Nature Center, even on leash!
Fires aren't allowed
in the park, so grilling anything is out of the question.
Accordingly, my plan for now is to have sandwiches, chips, snacks
and drinks. I will provide plates and napkins, etc. We could use
sides, desserts, and probably more drinks. Please post what, if
anything, you are planning to bring so we can get a better idea of
what is needed. Thanks!
I
plan to take a group picture to meet the 10 years! requirement
around 3 pm, or whenever the most people are available. We'll give
out a few door prizes about this time too, so don't miss it! I
guess there's nothing prohibiting us from taking multiple pictures
and posting all of them!
