Heartland Cacher: Greetings I'm Heartland Cacher, one of the volunteer reviewers for caches submitted to Geocaching.com.

I can't find any recent responses from the Cache Owner about maintaining this cache which makes it appear the Cache Owner is either unwilling or unable to maintain the cache. Cache maintenance includes listing maintenance including updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing needs maintenance attributes and enabling the listing. The cache will be archived and removed from the active cache listings.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived."

Geocache Description:

This is a small cache with room for small trade items. It is located just off a small trail. Please watch for muggles. This area is heavily used most days and is a great place to come to visit.

As you find this cache look to the west and south. You will seem some of the bird houses that were constructed for this Boy Scout Eagle project. As you walk along the trail to the north you should also see many more that were constructed and installed for this project.

A Scout that is conducting a project must demonstrate leadership and organization skills when developing a project. The Scout is the person that finds the project, organizes it and then finds volunteers to help carry the project out, no small task. Yet as you look around Mid-America Council it is difficult to NOT find areas in which Eagle Scouts have had an impact.

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America requires years of dedication and hard work. In addition to 21 required merit badges, each Scout must complete a project that — on average — requires 167 service hours. In 2008 alone, that translated to $16 million in service (based on the national volunteer hour value of $19.51).
