10 years of Cache & Dash Parking Lot caches Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

haloedversionls: Hello all! I stopped by to check on this cache today. Sadly, it looks like the skirt has been bolted down. LPCs have never been my cup of tea so I will not be replacing the cache. Seems fitting that a cache honoring 10 years of catching lasted for 10 years. It was a good run. Thank you for your interest in my caches. Be safe and happy caching!

Geocache Description:

As the name implies, this is a quick cache and dash in a parking lot. Should be a super easy find to any seasoned cacher. Please be weary of muggles, and watch out for the possibility of bees.

Placed in tribute to the hundreds of parking lot, cache-and-dash type, urban, micro caches that have been hidden and found over the last ten years. Especially those hidden in the parking lots of convenience stores. The headquarters of one of these popular convenience store chains is located just across the street. For those who are unaware, the first cache was placed on May 3, 2000. Thank you groundspeak for helping to bring geocaching to the mainstream!

This cache is a micro, in a parking lot. I prefer caches near points of interest, caches that I need to hike to, or caches that require me to solve a puzzle. The urban micro is for the most part an annoyance; however, they do serve as an important aspect of caching. For those trips that you do not have the time to stop for the longer, more difficult caches, you can, in fact, gain that smiley just by stopping for gas. Or, for longer trips out of town, it is great to be able to land a few finds along the way without too much trouble. Or, some days, you would like to get out caching, but you just don't have the time for anything involved; you can go out for some quick cache and dashes to satisfy that need. Finally, I should point out that though this cache is not original nor in a cleverly concealed container, some urban caches are; which adds a lot of fun to the game.

The point is, I know some of you are going to look at this cache and immediately think, 'Oh no, another micro'. I understand, and I promise to hide more difficult and involved caches; but for now, here's a quick smiley for you!

Enjoy!

Congratulations to scccc, KB3PPR, & smed12: First to Find!

Congratulations MBiem, Bkegz, Jaybird, Pete, & Tony: Second to Find!
