Geocache Description:


Battlesbridge is a village in Essex, England. This cute antique village is nestled on the banks of the River Crouch between Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea.

It offers the largest antique centres in Essex which was established in 1967. The Battlesbridge Antiques Centre comprises of five period buildings: Cromwell House, The Bridgebarn, The Haybarn, The Old Granary and Muggeridge Farm, and also houses 80 dealers offering advice, valuations and opinions.

The bridge over the tidal River Crouch was kept in repair from the earliest days by the Bataille family, hence the name of the hamlet.

The cache is a film pot type container, suitable for a cache and dash, go explore the local area as there are lots to see. Both pubs here serve great food aswell.
