Till Pavilion)
When - 12:00 noon untill whenever
(The end time may
change if someone else in Western Mass. wants to do a dinner
event.)
Its hard to believe
that Geocaching is 10 years old. Lets all get together and
celebrate this joyous occasion with a Geocachers
Picnic.
This event is
scheduled to coincide with the anniversary of the First Geocache
placement, and is set to begin around 12:00 noon until whenever on
Saturday, May 1st, 2010. Group Photo
is at 1:00pm
There will be plenty
of things to do including HorseShoes, Softball (If anyone has some
gear), Food, Soda, and of course a great time.
There will be a T.B.
& Coin Bin for anything that needs to be moved
on.
This is going to be
a Pot Luck Picnic. I will have plenty of Burgers and Hot dogs
for everyone and request that you please bring a side dish or soda with
you to share with everyone. Please post what you are going
to bring in your will attend log since this is going to be a pot
luck picnic set up.

Im going to have plenty of burgers (x 100) and dogs (50+-),
We are all set on buns
now...

them.

There will be some
new Geocaches placed in the area as well as some play anywhere
Wherigo caches set up on my GPS if anyone wants to get a Wherigo
cachefind icon.
There is only one
thing that you MUST do in order to attend this
event:
In keeping with the
Special rules set down by GroundSpeak:
"The people in the video or
photo should be festive. Be inventive! But please keep it family
friendly."
I have decided that you must have the Geocaching colors on you in
some shape or form. It may be the
Geocacing logo or, the colors of your clothing must represent the
same ones on the Geocaching logo.
For example: Yellow
shirt, Blue hat,
Orange shoes,
Green
pants.
The colors do not have to be exact but everyone must be able to
recognize the colors and they must be visible at all times,
and NO, undergarments do not count.
There will be a
prize for the most outrageous clothing color scheme on a person or
child.
Oh and did I mention
that everyone that attends gets a special 10yr Event Icon? That's
right, a special once in a lifetime icon that you can get just by
attending this or any other 10yr event. Don't let this event pass
you by, make your plans now to attend this very special
event.
In order for us to
gain the special Icon and you to receive it, we must get at least
10 Attend Logs. Please post your "Will Attend" Log ASAP and lets
see if we can get 10 people in less then 10 hrs.
I would also like to
thank Windsorhill5 for helping me find and secure the use of the
pavilion for this event.
Update:
I have just learned that our
fellow cachers to the east have proclaimed that they have one of
the best locations in New England to have an event,
(
10 Years! Uxbridge,
Massachusetts GC23KGQ ).
Let's show them that they may
have one of the best locations, but we have ALL of the best
Geocachers in Massachusetts here in Western Massachusetts as well
as the rest of the Great locations in our back
yards.
