Skookum Bear: As the cache owner has not indicated that they have visited the cache location to replace it if it was missing, perform needed maintenance, or verify that it is still there within a reasonable amount of time, I am regretfully archiving the cache to clear it from the active cache database and open the area to new caching opportunities. If the cache owner would like to replace a cache at this location, please submit a new geocache listing and it will be reviewed under the current Geocaching guidelines.

Please do not respond to this note by sending an email reply - your response will go to an unmonitored location and disappear into the ether instead of being sent to me. If you need to contact me regarding this cache, please do so using the link on my Profile Page

Geocache Description:

Third in a series in a nice quiet neighbourhood.

Bill grew up in this neighbourhood and has always wanted to see some caches here. There are some nice parks and green spaces that just beg for caches.

This cache is placed at one of the nicest public view points in Pemberton Heights. Please sit a while and enjoy the view.

Bill worked at the Golden Arches at the foot of these stairs back in the early 80's. He climbed this stair many a time.

In the mid 80's the District decided in their infinite wisdom to stop maintaining these stairs and build a new set about a block west. The locals continued to use these stairs as the new ones left you in middle of the forest at the foot of the bluff, nowhere near anything. The District finally relented in the 90's and rebuilt the stairs known to the locals as the Zig Zag. They also created Ashdown Park at the top.

Depending on which way you come the terrain could be 2 or 3.5, it is your choice.

The cache is a Bison tube. B.Y.O.P.

Please remember that this is a quiet blockwatch neighbourhood. There will be muggles around so be prepared to politely explain who you are what you are doing if asked.
