Geocache Description:

One of a series in Spinkie Den, Guardbridge.

Spinkie Den, Guardbridge was the traditional Sunday afternoon walk for the village’s residents and mill workers along the River Eden and up the burn side through the trees. This walk will be of interest to bird watchers with flocks of pinkfoot and greylag geese and overwintering hooper swans roosting on the fields in the area. Kingfishers can also be spotted here.

The walk can be done in a circular route from Guardbridge, up the den then along the farm track and down the Strathkinness road to take in the milestone cache. Alternatively, the two at the farm track (Chimney View and Strathkinness View) can be accessed by car as cache and dashes with parking available on the verge to also take in the upper den caches. The whole walk can be done in about an hour.

The paths in the den can be muddy therefore boots or wellies are recommended.

The cache is a large plastic locking type box. Please take care to re-hide.

The caches have been placed for the Lang Spoon 2010 therefore cannot be logged prior to Friday 2nd April 2010.
