This is a nano cache, just off the path on right hand side if you are coming from Denstone. Please be careful when going down the bank it can be slippery when wet.
After finding the cache, if you continue to follow the path round you will see Seventy Bridge, one of the original Uttoxeter Canal bridges. It was the 70th bridge from the start of the Caldon Canal in Etruria. The Uttoxeter Canal opened in 1811, but was closed in 1849 to make way for the North Staffordshire Railway. This section survives because the canal goes through the river Churnet above Crumpwood Weir, whereas the railway crossed the river on a different line by bridge.
The footpaths for this series are generally firm compacted stone. They are in good condition, but unpaved, and there may be some steeper inclines to reach some of the caches. The minor trails can be wet and muddy. The tree cover even in winter is quite dense, so don't rely 100% on your GPS.
F.T.F Honours goes to shropshire seekers. Congratulations.
