Geocache Description:

As we visit this area our thoughts go to family, friends, and neighbors.

The Williams Cemetery was on the original Williams family farm that extended from the river into the hills at the north end of New Martinsville, before entering the Steelton area of New Martinsville.
Presley N. Martin, 1778-1855, the founder of New Martinsville is buried here.
Jeremiah Williams, Feb.14,1761- Feb.6,1845, is a Revolutionary War Soldier buried here.
Negro slaves are also buried here in unmarked graves. Remember, the cemetery is just five miles south of the Mason Dixon line.
