Having often wondered why there were no caches at the coast between Happisburgh and Caister, I reached the conclusion its because so much of this coast is Nature Reserve or SSSIs so this is my push to rectify the matter. None of this series is on an SSSI or within a designated National Nature Reserve but are as close as they can get to these beauitiful areas.
This is a surprisingly attractive spot with grassy cliffs overlooking an uncluttered beach and a wonderful view of the Scroby Sands Wind Farm. Unlike many of the shanty towns that sprawl along parts of the Norfolk coast, Scratby's bungalows are built well back from the cliffs edge leaving a wide swath of open common access land between the properties and the cliff edge. Most of it is nicely maintained by the owners of the properties it fronts, making this a pleasant area for a stroll along the cliff tops. The footpath north. to Hemsby, follows the route of the dismantled Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway which ran from Great Yarmouth to Melton Constable.
A Micro cache containing log sheet only so BYOP. A pen and a paperclip are basic equipment for all geocachers. Play the game. Sign the log or don't log it as found!
