This cache is located in Hueco Tanks State Park & Historic Site.
The Park is open 7 days a week year-round. During the winter season (Oct. 1 - April 30) the park is open from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily. During the summer season (May 1 – Sept. 30) the park is open from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Mon. – Thur. and from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Fri. – Sun. Reservations during the winter season and on weekends are highly recommended. Please call the park HQ at 915-857-1135 for information.
There’s a $5 entrance fee for visitors ages 13 and older.
When you come to the park, stop in front of the headquarters building (the first building you’ll see once you enter the park gate) and come inside to register. If it is your first time at the park, or if it's been over a year since your last visit, you will be shown a 15-minute orientation video which explains how the unique rock formations at Hueco Tanks have provided an oasis in the desert for plants and animals (including people) for many thousands of years. The video also gives some rules and guidelines to use while you’re visiting the park.
The geocache is located in the self-guided area of the park.
The cache is located about 0.4 miles from the parking area near the restrooms north of North Mtn. This should be an easy grab.
Check the area for snakes before reaching in.
The Park Superintendant has approved this cache and a permit is on file.
The cache is a small black container with a log sheet and a few trade items. Bring your own pencil or pen.
