Den ersten eigenen Cache haben wir zum Anlass des 60. Geburtstages unserem Jubilar zwiefler50 gewidmet. Er war es, der unsere Begeisterung für das Geocachen geweckt hat.
Zum Cache selbst:
Die Wirkungsstätte unseres Geburtstagkindes ist ein altes Gemäuer. Dieses Schloss war der Mittelpunkt der Herrschaft und ständiger Wohnsitz von Angehörigen der Familie Batthyány, welches sich in Pinkafeld im südlichen Burgenland befindet. Das Schloss wurde im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert umgebaut. Der letzte größere Umbau erfolgte in den Jahren 1949 bis 1952, sodass vom ursprünglichen Aussehen des Schlosses, das heute eine Berufsschule beherbergt und denkmalgeschützt ist, kaum noch etwas zu erkennen ist.
Our very first cache we hid on the occasion of the 60th birthday of zwiefler50, whom this cache is dedicated to. He is the one who aroused our enthusiasm for geocaching.
About the cache:
The workplace of zwiefler50, celebrating his birthday, is an old historic building. This castle was the center of mastery and permanent residence of members of the family Batthyány and is located in Pinkafeld in southern Burgenland. In the 18th and 19th Century the castle was reconstructed. The last major reconstruction took place in the years 1949 to 1952, and from the original appearance of the castle, which now houses a vocational school and is a listed building, not much is left and therefore it is difficult to identify the remainings of the castle.
