Geocache Description:

Located near to Abergavenny Bus Station, this is a great cache and dash for public transport users. The cache is a nano placed to draw attention to the nearby stone circle. The access is suitable for wheelchair users and I think the cache could be reached but I can't be sure - sorry. Sometimes the area can be extremely busy as this is a popular gathering site for motorcyclists - especially in the summer and on Sundays!
PLEASE BE CAREFUL OF DOGS AND CHILDREN NEAR THE BUS STATION.

There is access to the cache site directly from the bus station, but the safer route and wheelchair/pushchair access is from the road near to the bus station cafe.

The stone circle in the park here was erected in July 1912 to commemorate the National Eisteddfod visiting Abergavenny. The Eisteddfod visited from 4th - 9th August 1913, and the stones were originally located further up Monmouth Road towards the roundabout were the proclamation and closing ceremonies of the eisteddfod were held. The stones were moved to their current location in Swan Meadows in 2001 when houses were built on their original location.
