This cache is hidden at the Harper Motor Company Building in downtown Hickory. The Harper Family built the two story brick structure in 1928 as a Ford Dealership, which continued at this site until 1970.
Today the building is home to The Jackson Group and Jackson Group Interactive. I work for Jackson Group Interactive and thought it would be fun to have a cache at this historic downtown landmark.
It is thought that the arched window on the front of the building, flanked by two small porthole windows, was built to resemble the front of an old Ford car.
During renovation of the building every effort was made to keep as many of the beautiful features of the 1920's building as possible such as the pressed tin ceiling and the terrazzo floor in the lobby.
This small cache is located at the rear of the building and should be relatively simple to find. There is room for a log only so be sure to bring your own pen.
Congratulations to Slickrick for being the FTF!
