Geocache Description:

! September 26, 2000 - September 26, 2010 !

The geocache waypoint number GC62 "Tombstone" is the first Texas cache, placed September 26, 2000. And still going strong! With the 10th anniversary of geocaching coming up this year I wanted to commemorate this historic Texas cache.

Come celebrate with us at Doug Russell Park in Arlington, Texas. If you haven't found it yet, come & and search for the first & oldest active Texas geocache! As this park is near the UTA campus, there will be plenty of parking in walking distance. General parking is allowed on weekends just across the bridge from the event off W Nedderman Drive.

1pm-4pm .

There is one picnic table out here, so bringing your own chair might be a good idea if you want to hang out & chat.

We will have tables for travel bug exchanges and if anyone would like to bring snacks that would be great. I will have bottled water and sodas iced down.
