The Surviving in Buenos Aires series is based off
Alexholic's excellent
surviving the virus series and describe a post-geocaching
world, a zombie-type story. If you don't like this type of story,
below you have a simple version.
Week 8.
Finally, I've found food and water, and in the process I
discovered valuable information for other survivors.
Where to get water? At the top of almost every building: most
tanks still have some water.
Usually it's not much, it either evaporated or was used up while
there were people living in them. But just a few centimeters of
water in a tank mean dozens and dozens of liters, enough for the
needs of a single person for at least two weeks.
What's even more interesting is that with the scrap materials
I've been collecting I've rigged up a rain water collection system
on two buildings: with it, in every rain I think I can get some 200
liters of fresh water.
Suddenly drinking water is a renewable resource. I'm so
happy!
The last step you need to know: always boil the water! To do
that I've also set up a rudimentary solar boiling system. I will
make a diagram for you.
And where to get food: a mile from here I found a market
distribution center. In it there was an unopened container full of
canned food. For now I will keep its location a secret, but I will
share it with any survivor that I meet.
Time to hide the container with this valuable info for
surviving, and some stuff I collected at the houses.

Simple version
This
cache series is located between the Anchorena and Barrancas
Stations of the Tren de la Costa, in a
path only accessible by foot or by bicycle.
If you have one or two hours and want to excersice a little come
and check this huge serie of caches!
Also, dont forget to check the
Tren de la Costa Ride cache series, that has caches near most
stations.
When to search for the cache
When searching for this cache please
avoid busy moments such as weekends and holydays, as this
area gets really crowded with geomuggles.
In Argentina the Geocaching is not yet a game as popular as in
other countries, and is common that geomuggles steal caches just
for fun. So, please search and pick up the cache when no one is
looking, and later leave the cache the same way. Always try to
pass unnoticed.
Although the area is not dangerous avoid searching for this
cache at night.
Cache Location
Halfway betteen the
Anchorena and the Barrancas Station you'll find this
cache.
If you come by car there's free parking at the nearby streets,
and you can only access the hiking path at these
locations:
- General Alvear St. and Juan Diaz de Solis St (nearest from
cache)

historia de estilo zombie. Si no es de tu gusto este tipo de
historias, mas abajo tienes una versión
simple.
Semana 8.
Finalmente, he encontrado comida y agua, y en el proceso he
descubierto información muy valiosa para otros sobrevivientes.
¿Dónde encontrar agua? En la cima de casi cada edificio: muchos
tanques de agua aún conservan algo de agua.
Usualmente no es mucha, se ha evaporado o fue usada mientras aún
había gente viviendo en los edificios. Pero tan solo unos pocos
centímetros de agua en un tanque equivalen a de decenas y decenas
de litros, suficientes para una persona para al menos dos
semanas.
Y lo que es más interesante es que con algunos materiales que he
ido juntando he armado un sistema de recolección de agua en dos de
los edificios: Con este, tras cada lluvia puedo obtener unos 200
litros de agua.
Así que de pronto el agua potable es de nuevo un recurso
renovable. ¡Estoy tan contento!
El último paso que hay que tener en cuenta: ¡siempre hierve el
agua! Para eso yo he construido un rudimentario sistema de cocción
solar. Te haré un esquema.
Y sobre donde encontrar comida: A un kilometro de aquí encontré
un centro de distribución de un supermercado. Allí había un
container sin abrir, lleno de latas de comida. Por ahora no
revelaré su ubicación, pero la compartiré con cualquier
sobreviviente que encuentre.
Es hora de esconder este contenedor con esta información valiosa
para sobrevivir, y algunas de las cosas que he encontrado en las
casas.

simple
Esta serie de caches se encuentra entre las estaciones
Anchorena y Barrancas del Tren de la Costa, en
un camino reservado para peatones y bicicletas que une ambas
estaciones.
Si tienes algunas horas libres y ganas de hacer un poco de
ejercicio, ven y diviertete encontrando esta nueva y gran serie de
caches.
También no te olvides de
la serie de caches del Paseo del Tren de la Costa, que tiene
caches cerca de casi cada estación del tren.
Cuando buscar el cache
Al buscar este cache por favor
evita momentos de alta actividad como los fines de semana,
esta área se llena por completo de geomuggles.
En Argentina el Geochacing todavía no es tan popular como en
otros paises, y es comun que los geomuggles roben los cachés por
simple diversión. Por lo tanto, por favor busca y recoge el
cache cuando nadie esté mirando, y luego deja el caché tal cual
como lo encontraste. Siempre intenta pasar
desapecibido.
Y si bien esta área no es peligrosa, evita buscar este
cache de noche.
Ubicación del Cache
A mitad de camino entre
las estaciones Anchorena y Barrancas encontrarás este
cache.
Solo puedes acceder a este camino desde los cruces a nivel de las
calles cercanas, en:
- General Alvear y Juan Diaz de Solis (el mas cercano al
cache))

Si vienes en auto, cerca tienes estacionamiento libre, sobre
las calles.
Una vez que encuentres el caché por favor firma la bitácora,
dejándonos tu opinión y cualquier comentario que tengas. Y sientete
libre de dejar tus TB y GC, y llevarte lo que quieras. Eso si,
recuerda siempre dejar algo de igual o mayor valor!
Al volver a esconder el cache por favor asegúrate de dejar
todo como estaba.
