I've skied at Sugarloaf since I was 5. When the gondola went in when I was in Junior High, we now had a way to get to the top, out of the weather and wind. The Club Cars became the place to do a lot of things, eat, drink and uh be merry!.
In '69, the year I was told I no longer had to go to high school, a huge April snowstorm dumped about 15 feet of snow on the Loaf in 4 days. I managed to convice my parents that we were stranded and could not "safely" drive back to Waterville. When they finally opened the mountain, the first few "club cars hit the ground coming out of the mid-station due to all the new snow. Eventuallly it was like a tunnel coming out of the half way point.
Congrats to Team LSD for the FTF!
