Die Verdener Dünen, auch Dünengebiet bei Neumühlen, sind ein Naturschutzgebiet im nordöstlichen Teil der Stadt Verden an der Aller in Niedersachsen.
Die Dünen sind Bestandteil eines ausgeprägten Dünenstreifens am Rande des Aller-Urstromtals.
Da diese Form der Wanderdüne im Binnenland durch Bewuchs und Sandabbau nach der Bildung in der Eiszeit meist zerstört wurden, sind sie sehr selten vorzufinden.
Die Dünen bei Verden haben sich vor rund 15.000 Jahren gebildet und sind nur von einzelnen Kiefern und Magerrasen besiedelt.
Nur der Rand der Düne ist von einem Wald- und Gebüschstreifen gesäumt.
Die Verdener Dünen wurden bereits im Jahr 1930 zum Naturschutzgebiet erklärt und sind das älteste Naturschutzgebiet des Landkreises Verden. In der „Verordnung über das Naturschutzgebiet „Dünengebiet bei Neumühlen“ bei Verden an der Aller“ vom 24. April 1930 wird die Größe mit 15,6 Hektar angegeben. Die ersten Schutzbemühungen um dieses Gebiet begannen aber bereits Mitte der 1920er Jahre.
Es wurde befürchtet, dass Sandabbau und Aufforstung zum Verschwinden der Dünenlandschaft führen könnte.



Verden dunes are also Murrough Wetlands, a nature reserve in the northeastern part of the city Verden on the Aller in Lower Saxony.
The dunes are part of a marked strip of dunes on the edge of Aller-glacial valley.
Since this form has been destroyed by the inland dune vegetation and sand mining after the formation of the ice age mostly, they are found very rarely.
The dunes at Verden have formed about 15,000 years ago and are inhabited by only a few pine trees and grassland.
Only the edge of the dune is bordered by a forest and bush strips.
The dunes were declared a nature reserve in the year 1930 and are the oldest protected area of the district of Verden. In the "Regulation on the nature reserve" The Murrough Wetlands "in Verden on the Aller, 24 April 1930 is declared the size of 15.6 hectares. The first efforts to protect this area, however, began in the mid-1920s.
