Geocache Description:

Join the Turkey Club by finding this cache! Daylight only. Cache is a large ammo can with log only and is placed in the open. There's plenty of room for adding swag.

Park at the lodge and walk across the stage of the outdoor amphitheater to join the Rock Creek Trail...just at the beginning. This is a 0.7 mile trek (as the crow flies) and does not require climbing any peaks. However, study the land as you hike to determine the best strategy to AVOID nature's obstacles: Water, steep terrain, snakes, dinosaurs, stickers, Kiowa Warriors, etc. Expect branches to try to scratch you, so dress appropriately.

The last 60 feet will be slow-going due to difficult footing, terrain, and overgrowth...so get a good vector towards the cache from 40-80 feet away as your gps may become inaccurate when closer. Cache is at the bottom of the east face of a vertical rock wall. Those who approach from the west will have an extremely difficult time. Recommend bringing a buddy and a cellphone since you'll be alone in the boondocks. Stop often to enjoy the scenery!

Judging from the log entries, those who don't find this cache fail for several reasons: (1) They expected a trail to lead them, (2) They didn't use or didn't trust their gps, (3) They didn't heed the advice in the description. This is a fun and relaxing 40 minute hike from the Quartz Mountain Lodge to the cache. Good luck!
