Thanks to oraclebennett for an
inspiration which contributed to the design and hide of this cache.
We're leaving "Pasky - The Gingerbread Man Geocoin" for FTF. Please
bring a writing implement.
A little bit of local geocaching
history...The First To Find Series was a unique project originally
imported to the local area by TeamSnook and designed to motivate
those cachers who were quick enough to snag an FTF to hide their
own FTF geocache. In the original design of the series whoever was
the FTF at an FTF cache had to fulfill a mandatory logging
requirement of keeping the series moving forward by hiding the next
cache in the FTF series, numbering the cache accordingly.
Groundspeak ruled that caches not be published that require the
placement of new caches. An appeal was filed and as a result the
series was modified. New language was added to the cache
description in an effort to make it clear that the FTF was not
required to participate by hiding a new cache. TeamSnook's first in
this series used the language that had been vetted by appeals.
However a subsequent follow-up review of that very language
questioned its acceptability since it still put enormous pressure
on the first finder by much too strongly encouraging he/she to
place a new hide. Unfortunately the series could no longer continue
in its prior form and had to either be terminated or further
modified.
For the record the new ground rules for this series, starting with
MonkyCheetaLilMonsta's FTF #40, shall be as follows:
Any geocacher who is capable of counting high enough and would like
to participate may do so. It is not necessary to be FTF on this
cache, nor is it even necessary to find this particular cache.
Anyone may add to this series at any time.
All of you FTF hounds know who you are! There is no obligation to
participate! Hope you have fun with it!
Rat race
got you down? The stress of the day-to-day too much to bear? Take
heart tired traveler for even here in the urban jungle of South
Florida amongst the concrete checkerboards of strip malls and
traffic jams exist oases such as this one. It may not look like
much, and simple though it may be, it still offers the antidote to
all that may ail you: open green space; a peaceful, soothing
panorama; thick, lush native vegetation; and towering, beautifully
sculpted tree cover...in short everything required to repose,
respite, refresh, relax, revive, renew, requiesce, restore,
rejuvenate, resuscitate, renovate, repair, replenish, and
revitalize. So come weary wayfarer -
Back to Nature!
