Geocache Description:

Last of the series before returning to the car park. Very close by are some old underground shelters which I presume are air raid shelters from WW2 attached to the now demolished mill. They could be something completely different, who knows? You can go in and have a look round if you have a torch on you. Full of litter etc now and they may disappear once the proposed academy gets built soon.

Bishops Park Circular is a series of 9 geocaches that takes you from the start at Strinesdale Countryside Park up to the monument at Bishops Park. You will travel in a kind of figure of eight and retrace your steps for a short time on the way back before ending up on the opposite side of the reservoir before the finish. The walk is about 5 miles. Parking (free!) is available at Strinesdale or up at Bishops Park if you prefer to start from there. The stone obelisk was erected in 1928 in memory of William and Anne Bishop when fifty acres of their land was given to the people of Oldham to enjoy as public open space. At 1,233 feet above sea level, it is the highest point in Oldham.
