Geocache Description:

Talk about hard luck story!!!!!! This cache was exactly that.

This cache was placed for the RACECAR2010 Event. The whole gist of this cache is for a cacher to learn more about projecting Waypoints on his GPS.

The first thing I accomplished was finding the hidden location. This was easy and I feel pretty proud of the hide. Now I just needed a "Posted" location where a cacher could start his search. The "Posted" location has a lot to do with this cache. Just like projecting Waypoints on a GPS, distance and bearing is very important here but so is the time. As I started to project my bearing & distance, my ill-fortunes began.

As I stood at the "Posted" coordinates to project my bearing, the batteries in my GPS died and I had no spares. Not only that, I forgot my wallet at home so I couldn't buy any good batteries to replace the dead ones. Quick thinking I checked my watch for the time. It was 1:22 pm so I knew the minute hand was pointing on the correct bearing. Pretty late in the afternoon so better hurry up and measure the distance.

When I went to retrieve my 100-meter long measuring tape from the cachomobile. I realized that I grabbed the wrong bag from home. You guessed it.....no measuring tape. Good thing the bag I grabbed was the wife's sewing kit. It had a metric measuring tape that she uses to hem pants. It'll work. As I got to the 241 meter mark, I accidently step on the tape and tore the end off. No problem, I just cut it off at the 1 yard mark and continued on from the accident spot. After measuring 38 yards, I slip and fell on some mud. Not am I only dirty, but the tape ripped in half. Still no problem. I just cut the the tape off at the 1 foot mark and continued on for another 42 feet. As I bent down to get another length of measure, a hungarian partridge suddenly flew up and startled me. You guessed it right........I tore the tape in half again. Using the little piece I had left, the final leg measured 65 inches. I'll figure the exact distance when I get home.

By now it was very late and thought I'd better get home. Dirty and tired, can any more ill-fortunes await me? Taking no chances, I drove all the way home; well under the speed limit because with my luck today, I couldn't afford a speeding ticket.

Your coords may NOT be exact as GeoChecker has a variance built in. Beware as you may need to widen your search at the final location.
