This should be a nice easy one so bring the kids and enjoy the view.
Mitchell Point Tunnel was located at the eastern edge of the Historic Columbia River Highway. It was completed in 1915. In 1954 the tunnel was filled with rock. In 1966 the Mitchell Point Tunnel was destroyed durning the widening of I-84. There are plans to re-create the tunnel as part of the Historic Columbia River Highway.
Follow the paved foot path near the bathroom. When the path hooks to the right to the Vinzenz Lausmann plaque you turn to the left on to the grass.The cache should be easy to find. Just a few yards off the trail in front of a large loose rocky hill. The cache is small plastic jar with log and some trading items.
