Waterhouses is a village in the south of the Staffordshire Peak District. It is around 8 miles from Leek and Ashbourne, being nearly the halfway point between the two towns on the A523 road, which roughly follows the southern boundary of the Peak District National Park.
This is one of 3 caches that were laid to commemorate the GirlGuiding centenary in 2010. The cache was originally filled with Girlguiding memorabilia.
The cache is accessible from 3 directions - from the Yew Tree in in Caulden Lowe, from Earlsway (by the Jubilee Nature reserve) or from the main road through Waterhouses. Each route requires a trek across fields or a track and can be muddy in wet weather
