How Geocaching Works

About a 5 minute walk from Hackbridge station - a bit longer if you access via Beddington Park. This cache has been placed along a very pleasant footpath that links to Mitcham Junction where there is another sidetracked cache. Both stations are on the same line between Victoria and Sutton.
There is a third cache - Not So SideTracked about half way between.
This cache can be discovered individually or in conjunction with Not So SideTracked and Mitcham Junction. The footpath can be muddy in a few places particularly at this end and there is one section which has recently been repaired - about a 20metre section which is not unlike walking on brighton beach! There is also a bridge to cross as you approach the Mitcham Junction end.
Please note that although the cache appears very close to the station you need to join the footpath either at Beddington Park or at the footbridge opposite Hackbridge Road to the north of the station which has narrow access.
Birdwatchers may want to bring their binoculars as there have been some interesting sightings on the lake incl. buzzards and red kites !
The cache is similar to a 35mm filmcan but slightly longer.
UPDATE: Mitcham Junction Side Tracked has been archived but there are some golf related caches to the north by Wimbledonian which link the path to Mitcham junction and/or beddington lane tram stop.
