Small lock 'n' lock in the 909 ~ As of 8/19/12 it is a camo'd pill bottle.
We’ve enjoyed the many caches at Stewart State Forest, and thought we’d do our part to put a lot out in the Taconic Hereford Multiple Use Area. With 909 acres, there’s room for lots more!
For this series, we parked just off the TSP, about .38 mile north of Rossway Road in the designated parking area. Depending on the time of year, you might be able to drive just a bit closer. We started by following the blue trail but eventually we left that and we were following smaller trails. This cache is about 175 feet from that side trail, or 70’ from a small road.
Eastern Towhees are black (males) or brown (females) on their back and breast, with white bellies, and rufous sides. They used to be called rufous-sided towhees. Their call sounds like ‘drink your tea’. They spend most of their time on the ground, scratching at leaves using both feet at the same time, in a kind of backwards hop.
New Year's Resolution #12 of 12
I don't think I've ever fulfilled a New Year's Resolution before! But this one was easy.
