Geocache Description:

The origin of this hamlet's name is considered to be a translation of the Blackfoot "Akoniskway", which refers to the many saskatoons and chokecherries along the nearby creek. This was an important constituent in the making of pemmican. The original CPR line went through Manyberries and the station is still standing, but it has been converted into a private residence.
