Geocache Description:

This adventure takes you to a cemetery in Colebrook, and a walk toward Hogsback Reservoir. If the gate is open you can cheat and drive down from the cemetery. Terrain rating is for the more ambitious.

After the plan was hatched to construct a dam and flood the original town of Colebrook, the homes were burned except a few of the newer homes which were moved. The remains of those in the Old Town Cemetery and the Spencer Cemetery were moved to the Colebrook River Burying Ground in 1953. This site was constructed by the Metropolitan District of Hartford County and dedicated to the memory of the known and the unknown dead. This cache is dedicated to my friend Linda who loved the outdoors and now rests in peace in this burying ground.
