Come reconnect to the place where Muncie has always been. One of our town's most important- and often overlooked- leaders is honored nearby, but many will remember this place for the sights, sounds and races of times gone by.
The coordinates are not the actual cache, they lead you to a note worthy point of interest. Being able to gaze from another's eyes might be helpful in finding the cache.
I hope you are inspired to spend time here with your family and friends. Winter hunts should be possible. Please place the cache back in its home as you found it, and you might want to carry a trash bag with you to divert the attention of Muggles. Besides, the park will appreciate your CITO efforts.
The location has posted closing times: PLEASE respect this for your safety. Night hunts are NOT permitted.
This is a family friendly location for all ages from 2 to 102 and pets are welcome. Geocachers with wheelchairs and strollers will find this to be an accessible hunt, but do expect some mildly bumpy terrain. Parking, bathrooms and water are nearby.
I hope this is an enjoyable cache that is not hard to find. As part of the contents of the cache, I have written a short piece detailing the history of the park, it's prominence during the city's development over the past 60 years and anecdotes of times the community have shared here in days gone by. I am native to Muncie and am happy to share this bit of history and life with those who find my cache.
Feel free to post old and new photos and recollection of old and new times in the log !
