Crow's Nest Traditional Cache

A broad, open mountaintop with many outstanding views of the Sooke Hills including the Ragged's, Sugarloaf, Quimper....
This is one of my favorite mountaintop views in a long time. We started from the Sookahalla and took Sue's Trail to Sugarloaf. We climbed up and over the Hydro Ridge and found the hydro road.A bushwhack here and a bushwhack there and we popped out on some well defined trails that whisked us right to the top of Crowsnest. It really is a crow's eye view! Highways, cities, islands, hills, and trees, (well of course). We made our way off the hill in a somewhat northeast direction and then had a bit of a mis-placed moment before we came back to a familiar trail. The cache is a cool ammo box - pretty heavy duty and there is a handy-dandy laminated map (for the first to find) of some local hiking trails you may not know about! Have fun!
