The Miss Davis School was opened in 1858 in a stone house named "Oakfield".
Miss Davis taught French and Mrs. Kennedy was able to give advanced instruction in music. The girls had good plain food with few frills of any kind. On Sundays they walked two by two to St. Andrews Church.
In 1936, long after the school was closed, J. C. H. Edy bought the house and named it "Twin Oaks" not knowing the home was originally named "Oakfield" by Miss Davis.
Cache is a small camo'ed lock n lock. Be careful on the riverbank, it is steep.
Congratulations to mission mode on FTF
