Geocache Description:

The cache is not located at the posted coordinates. This mystery cache involves a challenging logic puzzle. Solve the puzzle so that you are able to solve the equations below to get the true coordinates.

Introduction:

Five Geocachers are a group of friends. One of them discovered geocaching first, and it eventually caught on to all of them. They each use a different GPS unit, and they all have tried hiding some caches themselves. From the information provided, determine the user ID for each person, along with when they started, how many caches they have hidden, their favourite type of cache, and which GPS unit each one currently uses.

Clues:

1) Because of Ian Eckerson`s love of nature and the environment, his favourite cache type was either EarthCache or Cache In Trash Out. Even though the iPhone 3GS didn`t come out until 2009, the person who started caching in 2006 sold their old GPS and bought one.

2) Lillian Mercer created her User ID (as EyeSpyCaches) two years before the person with 21 hides, but only one year after the person who loves EarthCaches. The person who prefers the Traditional Caches finds them using their Garmin.

3) The person who`s been busy hiding the most caches, relies on their Lowrance to give them accurate coords. The Cacher who started in 2007 loves the Cache In Trash Out idea and wishes he came up with it himself.

4) Geo_TrailBlazer has more hides than the eXplorist 500 user, but less hides than Jim Camponi, who finds Traditionals boring, and thinks Earth Caches are too easy.

5) Caleb Farnsworth, with 19 hides, doesn`t use the Garmin to guide him. The person with 13 hides has fewer than the person who likes Mystery Caches, and started later than the iPhone user.

6) GPSWhisperer, with the most hides, started one year after CacheHunter2000, and was the one who introduced Amber Pearce to the sport a year later, by buying her a Garmin. I_hike_4_cache has 8 less hides, than the person who likes Multi-caches.

Assign the following numeric values to the cache types below since you will need these to find the coordinates:

Traditional: 2

Mystery: 25

Multi: 14

Earthcache: 53

C.I.T.O.: 1977

Once you solve the entire puzzle, you'll need to figure out these calculations, and apply the answer to the corresponding space in the coordinates below.

A) Total up the number of hides for EyeSpyCaches, CacheHunter2000, and I_hike_4_cache. Then take that total and add it to the value assigned to a Traditional Cache type.

B) Add together the year that I_hike_4_cache started caching, with the number of friends in this puzzle. Divide this number by the value assigned to the Earth Cache.

C) Multiply the year the cacher who likes Multi-Caches started by the number of hides the cacher who prefers CITO has. With that total, subtract the number of hides the cacher who prefers Traditional caches has, then divide that number by the value assigned to the Mystery Cache.

D) Add together the numerical equivalent of the first four letters of the cacher user ID who started in 2008. Add to that the Numeric Value assigned to the Multi-Cache.

E) Add together the number of hides that Amber Pearce has, with the year that person started and then subtract the numerical value assigned to CITO.

F) Add together the value assigned to the Traditional and the Mystery Caches and multiply that sum by the number of women cachers in this puzzle. Subtract that total from the doubled value assigned to CITO, then divide by the number of different GPS units mentioned.

Final Coordinates: North A° B. C West D° E. F
