DHJ&P: I’m having to archive this one, sorry - SophieAMDavies kindly told me the gates have been removed, so I went to check they were the same ones…and they are. What a shame. I wonder where they are now?!
So many happy memories of strolling along with Dave to check our caches on a summer’s evening.

Geocache Description:

One of a few caches in the UK that are close to live broadcast locations.

This cache is placed near the ex BBC Wales Headquarters. You do not need to enter the grounds to discover the cache. Most of the output of Radio Wales and about half of the Welsh language service Radio Cymru used to originate from this site, until its closure in 2021. Both these services are "on air" for over 18 hours per day. BBC TV news for Wales was also produced here. E.g. Wales Today and the Welsh equivalent Newyddion. The BBC's longest running soap - Pobol y Cwm was also recorded on these premises, now in Roath Lock in Cardiff Bay.
While BBC Wales makes other programmes, such as Doctor Who and Torchwood, they are currently produced away from this site in Roath Lock. The building on the south side of the road was mainly occupied by "BBC Wales On-line" and BBC financial services. The main building is on the north side. This houses the radio and TV studios.
