Geocache Description:

This is the second of a series of caches I plan to place in these woods which surround Barnehurst Golf Course.

I have come here many times with my children and have enjoyed the circular route you can take whilst circumnavigating the golf course. What is especially nice is that there are many types of birds (including parakeets) plus some super-charged squirrels to keep you entertained. However, areas can get a bit muddy when it has been raining hard, so leave your white flip-flops at home.

You will not need to go onto the golf course and this whole area is owned by the local council so is therefore public property.

Parking can be found in the roads surrounding it such as Parkside Avenue, Old Manor Way or some of the roads off of Manor Way. Be aware that during the week, there are parking restrictions between 10 and 12. It is also very close to Barnehurst Station. You can access the area a number of ways but I go through a gate at the end of Old Manor Way. Other entrances are off of Perry Street and Taunton Close.

Lastly, you will encounter a number of dog walkers and ramblers, so watch out for the muggles and a meandering Fatbrit.

“Please sit down Mrs Fatbrit,” asked PC Global.

“Have you heard anything?” Mrs Fatbrit said with more than a little hope in her voice. “I haven’t been able to sleep a wink since he disappeared.”

“No, sorry…” PC Global’s voice trailed off as he glanced at the floor. “We just wondered if there was any more information you could give us to help us find your husband?”

“Well...I knew I shouldn’t have got angry at him for hunting for these silly Geocaches but it’s ridiculous. When he is looking for a cache or trying to solve a puzzle, he doesn’t eat properly or wash regularly. His kids never see him and don’t get me started on his other spousal duties!”

“Yes, yes, Mrs Fatbrit, I understand.” PC Global sneaked a quick glance at Sergeant Position. “But do you have anything that would help us?”

“Well, after he left, I did notice that he had been scribbling something on his notebook; strange shapes and colours. And there was this photo but I can’t imagine why he might draw a heart on it.” Mrs Fatbrit blushed. “He is happily married, you know.”

“That’s fantastic Mrs Fatbrit. We’ll get the boys in the labs to take a look at these and will get back to you as soon as we can. Please don’t worry.”

Mrs Fatbrit stared longingly at the depression in his favourite armchair and sighed.

”Please bring him home safe.” implored Mrs Fatbrit as she showed the men in blue out.

Note - the co-ordinates at the top of the page are not where the cache is! You can also assume that the final co-ordinates will be something like N51 27.XXX E000 10.YYY

14-04-10: I've bumped the difficulty to 5 from 4.

12-05-10: Well done to FabJabs for a well deserved FTF! Faith has been restored that it is solvable, especially for me!

NOTE! I have had to move the location of the cache, so when you solve this puzzle (of course you will!), you need to add 6 to the ??.XXX of the northing and subtract 12 from the ??.YYY from the easting.
