This cache has been archived.

Lorgadh: This cache appears to have been in need of maintenance for some time. Would the owner please check this cache and give an indication of when it may be sorted out. Otherwise it should be archived. If there is no response to this log after 30 days I will archive the cache. In the meantime I am disabling it.

Guidelines:

  • You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to ensure it is in proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.), or posts a Needs Maintenance log. Temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have addressed the problem. You are permitted a reasonable amount of time – generally up to 4 weeks – in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing.

Could the cache owner please place a note on the cache page so that other cachers and I can see what your intentions are.

Please DO NOT send an email about this cache in case I don't receive it. Posting a note will ensure your cache does not get archived in error.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to Symington Strolls – a series of 15 traditional caches in and around the area of this delightful South Ayrshire village. This is Number 5 in the series but can also be taken as a cache-n-dash. The complete circuit is under 10 miles long. It loops back through the village and can therefore be done in 2 stages. All these caches can of course also be attempted individually.

During these walks you will encounter the usual caching challenges of terrain, navigation and retrieval. There’s nothing steep to climb but some sections of the series are on tracks which can get a little overgrown and these can also get quite muddy after heavy rain. Wildlife such as roe deer, hawks, squirrels, rabbits, etc may be seen. Where appropriate, additional information regarding safety, parking, etc and occasionally a little history is provided in our notes for each cache. Free parking is available throughout the village. All parking should be in accordance with any local signage, by-laws,etc.
It is a magnetic micro though you may only view it as a bit of a barrier. A pencil is included but cannot be guaranteed. As this cache is at a junction at a bend on the B730, please do not park on the road.
If continuing to Number 6 on this series, then walking along the minor road straight up the hill then taking first left is a quieter and more enjoyable walk than continuing along the B730. By way of a bit of temptation to use this slightly longer route, you may wish to include the cache GC1X5NW “Dundonald Castle & Arran View” although it is not part of this series. After turning left proceed down the hill, straight across the B730 (taking care as this can be a busy road) then continue on the single track road, and take the right fork at the junction beside the radio mast.
