Geocache Description:

Although the above coordinates are incorrect, they are within a half mile of the real coordinates. The cache overlooks Delta High School which has inspired many mighty rabbits to become great mathematicians!

It is speculated that the first known use of numbers dates back to around 35,000 BC. Bones and other artifacts have been discovered with marks cut into them resembling tally marks. The tally marks may have been used for counting purposes. The decimal Hindu-Arabic numeral system was invented in India around 500 AD. The system was revolutionary in that it included a zero. It is considered an important milestone in the development of mathematics. The base 10 number system that we use today comes from these great mathematicians.

The coordinates below are written using numerals that are direct ancestors of the numerals we recognize and use today. The cache is stuffed to the brim with mathematical swag. Enjoy!
