Trumbull One is a multi-part cache requiring collection of information at a specified coordinate and simple subtraction to get the final coordinates. Really, it's easy - give it a try!!! I believe that this is the first cache in Trumbull County, hence the name!
(Edit, 8/2023), I can't believe this cache has been here for almost 22 years!
I replaced the container / restocked and re-positioned the cache where it originally was. The best way to approach this is to go to the end of the woods where the trees are less dense before climbing.
As for the sled hill, it was immediately behind the bandstand, now well overgrown. Time has that effect.
I am not local and only visit once a year. If anyone sees from the logs that it is in need of anything, it would be appreciated if you can help out! It's wild that this was the first geocache in Trumbull County and is still there. -Brew
The cache is in a park tucked away from a busy roadway. Brewmeister played in this park as a youth and caught crayfish in the creek here and went sledding here in the winter - a long way away from now living in Florida. The park is a nice place to visit. This is a fairly straight ahead cache and should be fairly quick. Terrain is not too tough, but there may be a bit of climbing of small hills.
First, go to N 41 09.575 W80 40.252. You will be looking for two numbers at this spot. The first number is the year that the park was dedicated. Write that number here_________. This will be number "A". Next, look at the informaton on the stone for the time capsule. Find the year that the capsule will be opened and write it down here _________. This will be number "B".
To get the latitude, subtract number "A" from 2544. Fill in the resulting numbers here: N41 09._____.
To get the longitude, subtract 1928 from number "B" and fill in the resulting numbers here: W80 40._____.
Now you're on your way! Cache is in a square Rubbermaid container and initial contents have something for everyone- including your dog!!!
