One of Shanghai’s really nice parks. The cache is a brown-green decon container with room for a few small items. You will have to walk about a kilometer from the park entrance to get to the cache. There is a 15 RMB (US$ 2.50) to enter the park. Last entry ticket sale is at 4 pm, and park closes at 5.
Please be sure to snap the lid FULLY closed, and don't put in anything with any water, like hand wipes, even sealed in the package.
Gongqing Forest Park has something for everyone. Miles of paths. Fields for soccer and kite flying. A lake with boats you can rent. Many food concessions. Forests! Fields of flowers. A large roller coaster. A roller rink. It is a great place to take the family and spend a whole day.
To get to the park, you can drive, and park at N31 19.021 E121 32.573, near the intersection of Nanjiang and Jugong Roads. Bus 102 stops in front of the park. You can catch bus 102 at the Line 8 subway stop at Xiangyin Road Station. Take the bus headed toward Nenjiang Pier. Or, you can walk from Subway Line 8 at Nenjiang road. It is about a 2 km walk to the park from here; you have to first walk south from the station to Minxing Road, east to the park, and back north at Jugong Road.
As of January 2016, the entire east half of the park is under construction, so the cache location is moved to the south section of the park, across the main road. The same 15RMB ticket gets you in. The entrance to the south section is just across the road from the little used east gate of the north park. The cache is in an out of the way corner of the park.
Beware the Shanghai map offset that comes and goes. Waypoint on the map is not always the actual cache location.
