Sawadi Island Tower Traditional Cache

This is a cache located in a beautiful small island near the Sawadi Beach. To find this cache you have to rent a boat trip to island or to wait for a tide to be so low that you can wade. The container is a micro that includes a pen. Terrain 4 is not for the actual hiding of the container (that would be terrain 1,5), but it is for the route to the island, which is sometimes more difficult and may need a boat or wading.

Approach: Drive the road 01 starting from Musqat Ghubra R/A about 78 kilometers to the As Sawadi beach turning (N 23.43.483 E 057.43.633) Then drive 10,5 kilometers to the end of the road where you will find the parking area (waypoint below). You can rent a boat trip here and the price for the return trip to the island is about 6 OR - if you can negotiate the price. Otherwise they may ask you for higher price. The boat trip takes about 5 minutes. If the tide is low it is possible to wade to the island (for free!). In that case remember that you may not be able to wade back anymore when you will return from the cache! At the island there are stairs including 443 steps to the top where the tower stands. You can climb to the top of the tower also and the view from there is really nice. WARNING: There are fences missing inside the tower and there are very dangerous places. Be really careful, especially with children! We recommend that you won’t go inside the tower at night and also at daylight the flashlight may be good at the stairs. PLEASE NOTICE: Also watch for the scorpions and snakes, there has been seen those near to the ground zero and one snake also in the same whole where the container is! So it is wise to use some stick first to scare the potential animals before using your hand to take the cache out. The cache is located near the tower and you can reach it also by flying. The container is a micro, just a little bit bigger than a regular film canister. After finding the cache please put it back excactly the way it was, thank you. So you can make sure that the muggles will not destroy it and the following cachers can find it too!
