NOTE: This container is no longer an ammo can due to repeated pilfering. Kinda sad ...
This property was purchased by my father about 60 years ago when I was a little girl. He and my mother always dreamed of building a house there but never did.
This spot is locally known as "Wild Cat Crossing". When I was a child, our neighbors reported frequent sightings of wild cats crossing the highway from the church property across the road. We lived just down the road and my two sisters and I sometimes heard the chilling screeching of a wild cat usually around dusk.
The cache is located a couple hundred yards north of the highway on our property. Park at the pullout near the guardrail. Stay to the right of the ribbons as you enter the woods or, for a slightly easier approach, walk carefully along the guardrail east along 55 and enter the woods on the logging road next to the old building. The building was our summer kitchen which my dad relocated to this property when we moved to the town of Strasburg. Be careful of traffic along the highway!
This cache is dedicated to the memory of my parents, Roy and Lucy Orndorff. Home again.
I hid this with the help of my son and his family (JLDSC). This is our first hide. Enjoy!
