Geocache Description:

The published coordinates are not for the cache itself, but are those of Ipswich Old Cattle Market Bus Station, from where you can get a bus to the place referred to in the puzzle. The coordinates will place you at the right bus stand, but where should you get off? You will need to do some research to find out.

In 1931 a chapel was built in Suffolk in memory of the assistant chief designer of the R101 airship who died when it crashed in 1930. You need to find this chapel.

The R101 cache is steeped in local history and worth a visit to the chapel. Look all around, and if it is open, look inside. Hanging from the ceiling is a model of the airship, built by engineers from the Cardington airship works where the original R101 was built. But you don't need to go in, as all the clues can be solved from outside.

Once you have reached the chapel, whether by bus, car or on foot, solve the clues which will will lead you to the next location.

1. What year was the church founder (the young widow of the airship designer) born? ABCD
2. What year did she die? 200E
3. Nearby stands Lucy House (named after the church founder and built on the site of her former home). What year did her son, “CMR”, who had not been born when his father died, lay the foundation stone? FGHJ
4. What is the number of the A-road that passes the chapel? The numbers part gives you KLMN

Use this information to get the coordinates for the next stage:

N52 C(A+E).KDD E001 MN.BJD

Here you will find a painting, done by a serviceman stationed nearby during the war.

What year was the subject of the painting born? PQRS

What year was the painting done? 19TU

Now follow the waymarked footpath to the final cache at
N52 HT.ER(E+U) E001 P(Q+L+S).(Q+F)QG

The cache is a micro with just a log, so please bring your own pencil.
