This an all new cache, moved and renewed after recent flooding swept the last cache away. Hopefully this one will last, and be even more fun to find! When you find this you might like to explore Dunwich village, or have a cup of tea in the tea room before continuing on your walk. You are looking for a container holding just the log sheet, so BYOP.
This is a circular walk of about 4 miles around the old Royal Hunting grounds of Dunwich Forest. The full series includes 9 caches and a bonus cache. Collect clues from 6 of the caches to give you the coordinates for the bonus. The walk is generally on good woodland paths and tracks, although some areas can be muddy after rain. You can park in the car park at N52°16.991´ E001° 36.452´. The Forestry Commission, Suffolk Wildlife Trust and the RSPB manage Dunwich Forest in partnership. The conifer plantations that have dominated in recent years are being replaced with more natural mixed woodland and heath, a process known as ‘re-wilding’. Areas in the north are being grazed by a herd of Dartmoor ponies, while to the south is the birdlife-rich heathland habitat.
