Geocache Description:

South of National Trails Highway, west of Emigrants Pass. There is a short climb to the cache, a vertical gain of approximately 50 feet.

This cache is hidden in a small natural hole at the base of a boulder and covered with local rock. It is difficult to see from the road but will become obvious as soon as you approach it. The container is a white plastic screw top container with a log sheet, pen and a special first to find item. I don't want to spoil the surprise for the FTF, so I'll just say it was made by my grandfather during World War II. As with any desert cache, use a stick to move rocks, watch where you step, and leave the local wildlife alone and they'll leave you alone. Be careful on the initial climb, there are loose rocks and sand. Also, pay very close attention to the ground surrounding the cache, as there is a species of cactus that grows in the area that doesn't get very large, but has long thorns that hurt. Many thanks to CaptNemo for the maintenance; been busy with doctors and work lately! .

Caution!! As with any desert Cache, NEVER put your hands in or under any rocks or containers that you can't see fully. Always turn over rocks with a stick before picking them up. Things that like to bit and sting love to hide and wait just for you!
