This is the second in a series of caches along the route that Sir Alexander Fleming would walk daily as a boy when attending school in Darvel. The series finishes at GC24WP7 'The Penicillin Man' which is sited at his birthplace Lochfield farm.
Fleming once said......."When I woke up just after dawn on September 28, 1928, I certainly didn't plan to revolutionize all medicine by discovering the world's first antibiotic, or bacteria killer. But I suppose that was exactly what I did."
The cache is hidden at a corner which would have been just one of the many that Fleming turned on his way to an illustrious career as a research bacteriologist.
