Today, Cuneo Creek Horse Camp is one of the nicest places to camp with horses in the State of California. People tell the park rangers that all the time!  But at one time this was the Lewis Family Homestead.  In 1890, Artemus Lewis purchased this property for the price of $1200.  During its heyday, the ranch ran cattle, sheep, goats, turkeys and hogs and grew pears, apples, plums and peaches; some of these trees still produce fruit to this day.  If you want to catch a glimpse of a bear, visit the camp in the fall when the fruit is ripe.  The California black bear is a frequent visitor, as are wild turkeys, deer and bobcats.

A camoed lock and lock is hidden somewhere out here. You will need a pen. Please don't trample or otherwise destroy the vegetation. This cache was placed in accordance to the California State Parks guidelines.
