Geocache Description:

Go Fish is located near a reservoir that was built in the mid-1920’s. It was designed as a much larger facility to hold water from the Sierra but its size was reduced when, during construction, the dam settled and cracked. For safety’s sake the dam was widened and the size of the reservoir reduced. The intake tower, which stands high and dry above the water near the dam, was build before problems arose; it’s height shows the planned depth of the reservoir. Today the reservoir, with its 115 acres of surface area, is a recreation area and emergency water supply. Parking at the dam N37 53.084 W 122 08.386 is $5 or you can scout out free parking on residential streets on the opposite side.

This reservoir provides surprising results for folks who fish here from winter through early summer. Trout are stocked regularly and some large but elusive bass are roaming around. The reservoir has some big ones, including 10-pounders.

The container is a green and tan tackle box. It contains:
  • Official logbook
  • Geocaching letter
  • Fish pen
  • First, Second and Third place ribbons
  • Go Fish Travel Bug
  • Lotsa fishies
  • 4 Fish swizzle sticks
  • Fish card game
  • Assorted hooks
  • 2 bobbers
  • Assorted plastic baits
  • Assorted jigs
  • Split-shot weights
  • Fishing license holder
  • 1 Hand-made fly
  • 1 fish stringer
