When: Saturday, May 15th, 10:00 AM to 10:15 AM.
Where: John Dam Plaza in Richland, across from the
Richland Post Office.
What is a "Flash Mob" event? A "Flash Mob" is a
get-together of geocachers lasting exactly 15 minutes, no more and
no less. Cachers arrive at the predetermined location and time.
Events similar to this are being held all around the world at the
same time. For example, events will be happening on the east coast
at 1PM EDT and here in the Tri-Cities and other west coast
locations at 10:00 PDT.
Schedule:
Shortly before 10:00 AM the event log will arrive at
ground zero. At this time it is ok to begin gathering at ground
zero. Previous to this time please stay a fair distance around from
ground zero. Try and be dispersed in all directions around the GZ.
Choose any activity to keep you busy. Act like you are just at the
park to have fun!
10:00 AM: Sign the event log. Sign an entry slip and put
it in the designated container for a prize drawing. Trade any
items, mingle and swap caching tales!
10:05 AM: A light snack (chocolates and/or cookies) will
be provided. Prize drawing for a geocoin (WWFM Geocoin - See photo
above). The winner will also have the right to log FTF for the
event.
10:12 AM: Assemble quickly for a group photo which will
be posted on the cache page afterwards.
10:14 AM: Prepare to leave when the "1 minute warning" is
called.
EXACTLY 10:15 AM: LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY!!!! Meet
elsewhere if desired for some caching. The event area will be left
without a trace. All trade items and the logbook will be packed up.
The only chance you have to log the event and trade items is
between 10:00 AM and 10:15 AM.
Please post a "Will Attend" log so we know how many people to
expect. See you there!!!
